Delhi Tourism Offers Many Attractions For Tourists
Delhi formerly known as the city of kings is now the most visited and one of the leading destinations of India for tourism purposes. Delhi is an administrative district of NCT Delhi and is located in the north western part of India. The city holds pride as the capital of India and is the national seat of all three branches of the Indian government, housing the parliament, Rashtrapati Bhavan, and the Supreme Court of India internationally. Touring in Delhi offers tourists a chance to enjoy the cultural heritage of India, the most diverse state in Asia and one of the oldest civilizations of the world, with many monuments and ancient buildings that are still standing today.
Delhi has been the seat of power for various rulers and empires for centuries and is home to some of the finest masonry works in India. One can see the fantastic architecture from the age-old structures to the modern edifices in Delhi. The Jama Masjid is one of the major tourist attractions in the city, built by the Mughal emperor Jahangir and remains a favourite among tourists. It is a religious monument built to worship the Hindu goddess of wealth. It was built with great care and expertise by masons of Jama Masjid.
One of the most popular places for tourists in Delhi is Red Fort. The fort was built by the British and is the largest constructed complex in India. On arrival at the fort, visitors will have a chance to see a miniature railway station with three terminal platforms and a gate that lead straight to the fort itself. The third platform is for the people who enter through the barrier gate and get photographed before being taken to the statue of Jodha Bai who is the guardian deity of the fort. There are some interesting temples near Red Fort, as the city is also home to a temple dedicated to Lord Krishna.
Another temple in Delhi that attracts tourists is Babulnath Temple. The temple is built around a lake where Bala Mami built a temple to become the cremation place for her husband Narayan Singh, who was the Lord Krishna’s mortal enemy. The temple is run on the principles of Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu and hence there are many devotees who visit the temple on a daily basis.
A walk around Delhi can be an exhilarating experience, with many interesting monuments and buildings for tourists to explore. There are many historic paths like Pratapgarh Fort to explore, as it is a well-known battle site. There are some lovely parks to walk around in, including Chanakya Park which has an open air museum. The Akshardham Temple is worth visiting, with a temple dedicated to Lord Akshardham and several other temple complexes. For those looking for shopping, there are many small markets and roadside shops scattered around Delhi and the neighboring areas.
New Delhi tourism has become highly popular over the past few years. This is largely because of the restoration work being done on the monuments and for the grandiose architecture around the city. It is said that monuments build character and influence. It is due to this reason alone that tourists prefer to visit monuments rather than visiting fast-food chains or shopping malls. One of the most important points about Delhi for tourists is of course the Red Fort, which no visitor should miss. Delhi tours offer many opportunities for adventure enthusiasts and offer a wide range of sightseeing options.
